Fictional example

The funder asks

What would you like to do?

We want to run a monthly repair café in the Riverside community hall for 12 months. Volunteers will fix small electrical items, clothes and bikes, and teach people to do simple repairs themselves.

The idea came from our neighbours. At our summer street stall, 64 people told us they had broken items at home they could not afford to replace or get fixed. Many said they rarely leave the house except for shopping.

Each session will run on a Saturday from 10am to 1pm, with tea and cake, so it is a place to meet as well as to mend. We expect around 30 visitors a session. Six volunteer fixers have already signed up.

Example project (made up): Riverside Repair Café CIC. One answer drafted with Grant Builder.

You answer. It drafts. You decide.

Grant Builder does the heavy lifting. Your application stays yours.

  1. 1

    Answer a few plain questions

About your project, one at a time. If it needs a number or a name it doesn’t have, it asks you. It never makes one up.

  2. 2

    It drafts each answer

To the funder’s actual question, inside the word limit. Too long? One click makes it shorter.

  3. 3

You check it and send it

Edit anything you like, then copy it into the funder’s own form and submit it yourself, in your name.

Funders decide who gets a grant. Nobody can honestly promise you one, and we won’t.
